A cheerful and active woman. After the early death of her husband, she sold real estate, worked as a secretary and data coordinator, and served as a hospice volunteer. She found her zone as she grew older, becoming very active in the local community. Led the Rochester Voter Alliance and was president of the Interfaith Alliance of Rochester. Was a spirited member of the Raging Grannies activist organization. Served on the Pittsford board of zoning and planning for many years. Frequent international traveler and hiker, especially with the British walking-tour company HF Holidays. Visited the Soviet Union, Turkey, New Zealand, and Baffin Island among other countries, as well as countless hiking trips to England, Scotland, and Wales. A plant lover with broad knowledge of garden and wild plants. Loved cats and peanut butter toast. Was in excellent health and spirits until succombing to herpes encephalitis at 77.
