Notes
A quick-witted man who loved to tease and joke with his children. Enjoyed golf, the outdoors, and hiking. Fought in the Korean War as an artillery officer. Received both an undergraduate degree and MBA from Harvard University. Drove cross-country to San Francisco at age 25, where he spent the summer unsuccessfully looking for work in canning factories. Comparatively shy, he sometimes excused himself from conversation at parties by saying he was "going out to get cigarettes". Worked for many years for the Burroughs Corporation, which transfered him and his family back and forth between Rochester NY and Detroit MI. Made many trips to Central and South America on business. Was corporate comptroller late in his career. Led a memorable family trip driving up the coast from San Francisco to Seattle in 1978. Succombed to cancer in 1982 at age 52.
