Mr. Bell was born in Manlius, receiving his education in Potsdam, Normal, where he prepared for teaching. After his graduation he taught for several years in Plymouth, Ind. It was there he met Miss Ethel Wiltfong, a teacher in the same
school, who later became his wife. Returning to Manlius he became a clerk in the general store of his father and later became a member of the firm of G. M. Bell and son.
