The death of Mr. William Garlick, a long time resident of this village, occured at his home on Bay street, Friday, October 26, of acute gastritis.
Mr. Garlick was born in Sheffield, England, 78 years ago. For many years he was engaged in the hardware business in Potsdam, being a member of the firm of Garlick & Munson, retiring from active business about fifteen years ago.
A man of quiet-and retiring disposition, Mr. Garlick was nevertheless interested in whatever was for the welfare of the community, and was always ready to do a citisen's part.
Out of five chliddren, two sons, John and George are dead.
Funeral services were held at the home on Tuesday afternoon, Oct 30, Rev. R. M. Sherman officiating, and the remains were interred at Bayside.
Mr. Garlick is survived by a wife, one son Ralph In Cincinnati, and two daughters, Mrs. Bell and Mrs. Flanders who reside in Manlius. Mrs. Flanders was the only one who was able to be present at the funeral.
