He spent life in England as "the leading citizen of Rothwell." He married Harriet Tilley, b. 08-DEC-1826 & d. 20-JAN-1902, & had 6 children. Visited family in USA on visits in 1872 and 1893. On his second trip, he went as far west as Omaha NE to visit his neice Jennie (Chamberlin) Bollard, covering 11,000 miles and seeing over 180 relations along the way. Elizabeth (Inches) Chamberlin has Daniel's diary from this 1893 trip.
Daniel served the Rothwell Congregational Chapel in various capacities for 50 years. A lecture room was erected in his honor and is known as the Chamberlain room. A plaque in his honor reads "This building is dedicated to the memory for Daniel Bollard Chamberlain in grate recognition of his faithful Christian life and work in connection with this church and Sunday school for more than half a century - September 27 1900".
